First, I want to rededicate this blog to developing new and pre-service teachers. I have gotten away from that focus because of the frequency of writing that comes from committing to writing every day.
Now, to spread the wealth, a great post by @miameyer in which she shares her experiences with new teachers. It got me thinking about how important it is to have young teachers reaching out to new teachers. While any of us can reach out to new teachers, having someone who has just gone through what you have gone through is important.
Someone who is far enough removed from the struggle to make quality reflections but not sar far away from it that they lose the vividness of their experience can relate well and guide new teachers through the learning process in their first year.
Who is a mentor for your new teachers and who mentors the mentor?
