There are few methods to teaching that don’t involve the power of modeling. Being the exemplar for your students as they learn new skills is crucial.
It should therefore stand to reason that when we are trying to cultivate a culture that ensures student growth, modelling should be one of our foundation principles.
Adults frequently make the mistake of following the “Do as I say not as I do” mentality. If we want our kids to act responsibly, be honest, care about learning, and become the kind of people we hope they will, we must be that person ourselves. Who you are and how you conduct yourself is a major deciding factor in building a world where your students become better learners and better people.
So remember, MODEL, MODEL,MODEL! Be the person you wish your kids will be.
